Not just for education, but for clarity. Not just for knowledge, but for purpose. In a world that often asks for more and faster, this was a rare opportunity to slow down, reflect, and reconnect\u2014with our work, with each other, and with the deeper mission of emergency medicine.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_text et_pb_text_7  et_pb_text_align_center et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Built by Clinicians, for Clinicians<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Designed by FACEMs, the Emergency Medicine Symposium continues to be a space shaped by those who practise emergency care at the front line. It\u2019s for senior clinicians who carry the emotional and clinical weight of decision-making every day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This year\u2019s academic program stayed true to its mission: relevant, rigorous, and grounded in the real world. We explored cardiogenic shock, pericardiocentesis in uncertainty, endometriosis in the ED, paediatric and geriatric care, and the human cost of incivility in healthcare, to name a few.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the workshops, delegates sharpened their skills in <strong>advanced ECG interpretation<\/strong>, got hands-on in <strong>emergency dentistry<\/strong>, and explored <strong>non-pharmacological strategies in adolescent mental health<\/strong>\u2014topics designed to empower clinicians immediately, not eventually.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A hospital visit in Cebu opened our eyes to the challenges and commonalities in Emergency Medicine when we look beyond our own systems.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u201cThe goal is not to be perfect by the end. In 2025, we donated <strong>AUD $61,500<\/strong> to complete our long-standing support for <strong>Theravil<\/strong>, a village in northern Sri Lanka. With the guidance of our charity partner <strong>Palmera<\/strong>, this community has grown toward self-reliance\u2014through entrepreneurship, dignity, and local leadership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As one village steps into independence, another begins its journey.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also in partnership with Palmera, we launched our next project in the neighbouring village of <strong>Puthukkudiyiruppu, Mullaitivu<\/strong>.
